Speaking of which, my "radar" detects something off about Allison McDowell. For now, it's just my sense that she's unnecessarily prickly and lacks self-awareness/self-critical faculties to see that her analytical activity is WAY over-complex for the vast majority of people. When I point this out ever so slightly, she reacts defensively like a sea urchin that's been prodded in a coral reef. Not a good sign.
Thanks, that's interesting and disappointing. At the end of the day, I just follow someone new I like (e.g., Celia Farber or Jennifer Bilek or Amazing Polly) but if they slip up, then I become suspicious. It's always about the issue, not about the person/personality.
There's always the possibility, to be generous, that someone like Farber has become myopic for emotional reasons and emotionally resists thinking logically about the issue.
